My Week In Fashion: Grazia's Senior Fashion Editor Hits The Sales
GALLERY >> My Week In Fashion
1. Cos Sale Sweep
I went sale crazy this week at my favourite high street store COS and came out with almost an entire new wardrobe! I’m now fully re-stocked on white shirts, black shift dresses and this new lightweight jacket - which I haven’t taken off since.
2. Dior: The Legendary Images
I’m obviously obsessed with fashion and photography books so I was thrilled when the new Dior book ‘The Legendary Images’ landed on my desk at Grazia HQ. This is published to accompany the exhibition at Musee Christian Dior in Granville, Normandy, which was the designer’s childhood home. It’s a celebration of the fashion house and its successful relationship with fashion photography. Filled with many legendary pictures from the past and current campaigns. Amongst my favourite is this Loomis Dean photograph from 1957, shot in the salons of the couture house on avenue Montaigne. Haute Couture at its finest.
3. Nina Ricci Arm Candy
You know that feeling when you open a package and the content is so exciting you can hardly breathe? Well I do! The lovely people at Nina Ricci, in celebration of their latest bag icon – the Marche – have invited me to create and customize my personal edition. I’m one of the ‘happy few’ fashion VIPs given this chance and I’m humbled that I was selected. We had such fun putting the colour combinations and fabrics together, but you’ll just have to wait to see the finished product– I can’t wait!
4. Prada Realness
The nice thing about the menswear shows are the sprinkling of womenswear pre-fall looks, so I was eager to see what Mrs Prada had in store for my future shoots when it was shown with her menswear collection in Milan this weekend. "Anytime I do a men's show, I'm thinking this would be fantastic for women—or at least for me.” She told Style.com “And more and more, it feels instinctively right to translate the same idea for both genders.” I loved the classic collection which is simple and neat but with a hint of mannish style.
5. Surfer Chick
It seems a lifetime ago that I went to Lanzarote to shoot a series of summer stories for the main fashion pages of Grazia. Last week saw the last of four published, ending on a high with model Hernriett Barabas styled as a surfer chick. I loved the clothes in this, from the Marc Jacobs sweatshirt and Kenzo cropped top to the sexy cut-out neoprene swimsuit and bomber from Tommy Hilfiger. With no trips on the horizon, I best get planning my next adventure!
