French brand Maje is the label of choice for shoppers looking to nail that Parisian insouciant smoky look. With a dose of rock and roll and a hint of subversion their collections designed by designed by Judith Milgrom offers guaranteed coolness. So when we heard the label had cast our favourite garçonne model Saskia de Brauw to front their new season campaign we were impressed with the fit.

Maje’s new collection is inspired by Rock Legends – a concept that Ms De Brauw who recently featured in David Bowie’s music video well represents. With her close cropped haired, statement brows and chiselled bone structure, Saskia looks fierce in the campaign’s black and white shots. Currently ranked the #4 top model in the world by models.com, she’s on French Vogue’s September issue cover and she’s also starred in campaigns for Fendi, Versace and Karl Lagerfeld this season – quite the campaign haul. The 32 year old model is also a great choice because there’s more to her personality than the fact she’s a winner of the genetic lottery. SDB is also an accomplished artist and she keeps a blog account of her travels and images that inspire her work. So not just a pretty face.

The campaign itself is super simple and powerfully shot in monochrome. Aside from SDB’s piercings, accessories are kept to a minimum letting the model’s boyish beauty shine through.  To get a closer look behind the scenes of the campaign, check out the video of the shoot below. Enjoy!
