Rosie's maxi mania: from daytime breezy to glamming it up in the evening [Rex, Getty]
Rosie Huntington Whiteley would be a knockout when dressed only in a refuse sack, but over the past few weeks she’s been look particularly awesome in an array of billowing, leg-baring maxi dresses, supersize sunglasses and statement sunhats.

The British model and Burberry girl has got her summer wardrobe formula cracked – it’s basically one part Los Angeles hippy to one part Parisian chic fille. That means there’s no sign of the kind of excessive bohemia that slots easily into the Coachella scene; while you’ll find a fringed jacket and a floral floor-sweeper from The Reformation in RHW’s repetoire, you probably won’t see them being worn together. Instead, she’ll pair a chiffon dress with a unexpectedly chunky sandal from Laurence Dacade for extra rock-chick effect, or wear her tasselled leathers over a grey marl tee and jeans.

Aside from her frock-a-thon, we’re enjoying those saucer sunglasses. It’s been a while since such gigantic frames have dominated the Hollywood hills, but instead of Jackie O, RHW is already tapping into the retro 1970s lilt of next season’s runways. Lenses are being tinted and frames are going round, so her peachy pair from Chloe will be a very useful purchase for the months ahead.
