Recently making her debut from behind the scenes of the fabulous Prada, Miuccia Prada - the youngest granddaughter of the brand's founder - is striking a pose for the 10th anniversary issue of LOVE Magazine. So what's Ms Prada like to work with? Lucky for us, Katie Grand, the magazine's editor in chief, has spoken to The Guardian about shooting the influential designer. So take note of Miuccia according to Katie...
Despite an arguabaly austere public image, the portrait Grand paints of the woman behind the iconic brand is a far cry from what one may imagine. She reveals that the night before her show, Miuccia tends to prance around to George Michael at 3am. Genius! "The first show I styled for her was in 2002, and Miuccia would listen to George Michael at 3am and the male design team would put on the show shoes and strut around backstage the night before," Katie recalls. "I remember she was wearing brightly coloured underwear under white dresses at the time. I'm not sure anyone would necessarily have expected that," she says, going on to add that she's always found the designer "phenomenally sexy".
And how does the iconic designer come up with her designs? Very simply, according to Grand: "...ultimately, for both women's and men's collections it's about what she herself wants to wear," she explains. "It's much more simple than it is for many other designers who over-think things, work so hard at reinventing the wheel."
Making her modelling debut in LOVE, Grand reveals that the decision was made by a desire to do something different: "We talked about doing something she has never done before, and she has never modelled," she explained, adding that the clothes for the shoot were selected by going through the Prada archive, and having pieces specially made.

But it's not just the magazine's editor in chief who admires the iconic designer, Grand reveals that Marc Jacobs is also a longstanding fan. "Marc respects and admires Miuccia as much as I do. If I'm not working with him, he'd much rather I was working with her than anyone else… He wears Prada all the time," she says. And who can blame him?
