Minnie Mouse Covers LOVE Magazine's 10th Edition Featuring Cara Delevingne, Edie Campbell, Georgia May Jagger And More

In this week's Grazia we've got a first look at LOVE Magazine's 10th edition - the 'Sweetie Issue'. While young stars from Hailee Steinfeld to Justin Bieber have all covered the publication in the past, this issue's star has been a style icon for more than seven decades. Yes, that's right, for Autumn Winter 2013 Disney's Minnie Mouse has brought her timeless polka dot appeal to the fashion world - and she's made some new friends.

Inspired by the character's enduring cultural influence, LOVE's Editor-in-Chief Katie Grand asked Minnie Mouse to make her fashion cover debut alongside some of the biggest British models of the moment including Cara Delevingne, Edie Campbell and Georgia May Jagger. Hard to believe that Minnie hasn't bagged a cover before, but she was a real pro when she came to London to be shot by Mert Atlas & Marcus Piggott and styled by Grand.

The stylist revealed, "Minnie flew all the way from Disney World to a studio in North London. I've worked with Snoopy, Miss Piggy and Kermit in the past so I'm used to working with non-human celebrities - but this is the first time I've ever made one a cover star."

It's not just Minnie's style which has made her iconic, her mouse ears have been repeatedly imitated too, and for the issue Grand asked a selection of leading luxury fashion houses to create bespoke ears and bow designs. She explained, “As work began on this issue, that famous Herb Ritts shot of Madonna popped up on my Instagram feed, the one where she’s in bed wearing the Minnie Mouse ears; there was something about that look – knowing, but genuine, and genuinely sweet – that got me thinking. I’ve always been a big fan of Minnie’s style and that polka-dot bow. So we set about getting my favourite girls in Minnie Mouse ears that had been enhanced by the likes of Miu Miu and Jake and Dinos Chapman for Louis Vuitton. But that wasn’t enough: we had to get Minnie Mouse herself in on the act too.”

To accompany the launch the LOVE website will showcase Grand’s interpretation of the world of Minnie Mouse.

LOVE 10 'The Sweetie Issue' Autumn/Winter 2013 goes on sale 29 July.
