Hello Milano! Team Grazia has arrived in the Italian capital with a hoard of heels, faux fur and jaunty hats ready to hit Milan Fashion Week. On our schedule, we've got faaabulous shows including Gucci, Prada and Versace as well as several appointments with our favourite brands and maybe a few glasses of champers inbetween. Grazia's Executive Fashion and Beauty Director, Charlie Miller, will be guiding you through the week so you can live the MFW experience through her eyes. So let's get cracking with Day One! Read on for Charlie's highlights...
1. Gucci gives us a fabulous welcome
Our first stop in the city was the Gucci show. Want to know what we loved? Firstly, we're coveting the low '60s boot. Secondly, we love love LOVE the ocelot print. And finally, the fabulous fraggle coats in sorbet shades have just gone straight to the top of our wishlist. Read Susannah Frankel's full show report here.
2. Anna Dello Russo works umbrella chic
We always get excited to see what Anna Dello Russo will wear at fashion week but it's when she's in her home country, that this style maven really goes all out. We saw her today at the Gucci show looking fabulous in a Saint Laurent ensemble topped off with a ginormous black umbrella. If anyone can work the rain, it's ADR.
3. Sampling the Italiano food. Well it'd be rude not to
As well as the va-va-voom fashion on display, one of the best things about Milan Fashion Week is the food. At Gucci, we were treated to chocolates and strawberry-and-cream cakes as well as lashings of champers. And now we're MFW ready!
4. Joan Smalls - and her beanie - has arrived
Day One and I've already bumped into one of my favourite models: Joan Smalls. Is she not the most beautiful woman in the world? (Aside from Penelope Cruz of course). Joan shows us that beanie style is still going strong as the trend moves from London to Milan.
