News has just reached us that one of New York’s most powerful designers, Michael Kors has joined forces with our favourite ever Bond girl, Halle Berry, in an effort to raise awareness and money for the United Nations World Food Programme.
The partnership has launched with two specially designed Michael Kors watches as part of the brand’s WATCH HUNGER STOP campaign. For every single watch sold, 100 meals will be provided to hungry kids through World Food Programme, as well as $25 donated per watch from Kors to the charity. The watches will be available in Michael Kors stores worldwide as well as on michaelkors.com in the U.S.
But why have MK chosen Halle to partner up for this project? Well, she’s got a pretty good charitable track record if you ask us. And Kors agrees, “I could not be more excited about Halle Berry’s decision to join me in fighting hunger, she brings talent, energy, generosity, and of course star power to a cause that is extremely important to me. I’m grateful that she has joined our effort and thrilled that we will be working side by side to end hunger.”
For more than ten years Berry has been helping victims of domestic abuse through involvement with the Jenesse Centre in LA. She is also involved in the Revlon Run/Walk for Women to raise money for cancer research and treatment as her role as a Revlon Global Brand Ambassador.
She spoke of her Michael Kors WFP partnership, “I’m proud to join Michael Kors in this global effort to end hunger, statistics show that women play a crucial role in defeating hunger. WFP is especially focused on providing assistance to women because, as mothers, teachers, and entrepreneurs, they will improve the future for their families and communities. It’s an effort I’m eager to be a part of because I’m certain we can make a real and substantial difference in the lives of people in need.”
