With Alice in Wonderland 2 on the horizon and the starring role in Madame Bovary coming later this year, it’s no wonder Mia Wasikowska has returned to the fashion fore...
When the Australian actress first entered the Hollywood realm a few years ago she simultaneously bagged that most coveted of campaigns for young starlets: Miu Miu. For Spring 2012’s ads she shared the prestigious placement with Hailee Steinfeld, providing gave good sultry eye and handbag pose for photographer Bruce Weber. Mia then found herself on the cover of everything from W to Bazaar and back again. Things have been relatively quiet on the Wasikowska front until today, when AnOther Magazine have revealed that the modern Jane Eyre shall grace their Spring/Summer 2014 issue.
Bedecked in a showpiece from Comme des Garçons current line – including the attached teddybear - Mia does the adventurous Rei Kawakubo-designed pink outfit justice. Shot by Craig McDean and styled by Olivier Rizzo, the ‘fearless youth’ – as she’s dubbed by the publication – has wild, frizzed-out hair, glitter-heavy eye-shadow and uses her doll-like beauty and proportions to great effect. Above is an exclusive shot of her in another Comme creation, a white-caged pink, frilled dress – used almost prop-like to frame the 24-year old’s delicate features.
No doubt there’s more of Mia to come for 2014: with the Oscars red carpet around the corner and a potential promo tour for two flicks in 2014, could her fashion star start flying higher than ever?
