Who could stay no to dinner with Matthew Williamson and Gwyneth Paltrow? Certainly not us. And so it was that last night Grazia Daily was scoffing a delicious meal at aqua shard with the British designer and the Hollywood actress last night.
Matthew and Gwyneth, who recently worked together on designs for Goop, hosted the swanky event in aid of the Kids Company charity. They unveiled the faaabulous Christmas tree curated by Mr Williamson, which is adorned with baubles created by the likes of Sienna Miller, Mary J Blige and Gwynnie herself. Each resplendent bauble will be auctioned off with all proceeds going to the charity and you can get bidding by visiting www.ebay.co.uk.
As if the double whammy of two A-list hosts wasn't fancy enough, we were also joined by Arizona Muse, Kelly Hoppen and Caroline Issa. Sitting on tables of eight, we tucked into a delicious three-course dinner including Dover Sole, cuttlefish, broad beans and Luscombe Devon cider sauce created specially by aqua shard. And ever the gracious host, Gwynnie stopped at every table for a quick chat as we ate, telling us how glad she is to hear people are enjoying the recipes in her cookery book. N'aww! The yummy mummy looked as elegant as ever wearing an embellished long-sleeved gown courtesy of MW, obvs.
Camila Batmanghelidjh, the founder and director of Kids Company, gave a touching speech to top off the evening. She praised Matthew and Gwyneth, as well as hubby Chris Martin, for all their support them and for their invaluable help in keeping the charity such a success. Cheers to that!
