Mary-Kate Olsen has flashed what appears to be her engagement ring at the Louis Vuitton Show at Paris Fashion Week, after getting engaged to her 44 year old boyfriend, Olivier Sarkozy last week. The ring - worn on her wedding finger - is a '50s Cartier number with a large four-carat diamond surrounded by 16 sapphires and gold petals. She teamed it with a monochrome androgynous outfit and sunglasses for its debut.
'Mary-Kate Olsen is no stranger to oversized styling and it appears her signature look has extended to her engagement ring,' Celebrity diamond expert Vashi Dominguez of Vashi.com told Grazia Daily.
'Olivier Sarkozy seems to have presented her with an impressive an Old European cut diamond, a huge rock for such a petite bride-to-be. However, this is no ordinary engagement ring. The fashionista's uncommon gemstone boasts a detailed and heavy vintage yellow gold setting, quite at odds from the preferred white gold and platinum selections of her Hollywood counterparts.'
'Such an unusual choice also begs the question of whether this is in fact her engagement ring or is it actually a piece of decorative fine jewellery intended to fuel media speculation of her engagement to her long term boyfriend? It's certainly a smart choice if she wanted to leave us all guessing. I’d estimate the ring retailed for £50,000.'

1/4/14: According to reports, the half-brother of former French president, Nicolas Sarkozy, popped the question to Mary-Kate whilst the couple holidayed in Jamaica earlier this month (jels much). MK and Olivier already share a casual $6.25 million pad in New York City and the marriage will make Mary-Kate step mother to Sarkozy’s two children, Julien aged 12 and Margo aged 10.
The pair who have put in a number of PDAs since they started dating back in 2012 initially sparked engagement rumours last month when the couple were seen perusing rings at Neil Lane in Los Angeles.

The key questions are: how big is the rock? Will MK be wearing a one-off gown from The Row designed by herself or opt for some vintage vibes? Will the hen do be too chic for willy straws? One thing is for sure, Mary-Kate will be the chicest bride of all time. Soz K-Middy but there's no competing with an Olsen twin.
Perhaps, however, Elizabeth won’t bag the role of Maid of Honour after recently declaring that Ashley was her favourite sister. But we're sure Elizabeth, who's the face of Miu Miu, can console herself with a sassy dress from Mrs Prada herself for what is set to be the wedding of the year.
Get yourself at the ready, MK, as there is so little time, so much to do!
