Marion Cotillard In Bondage-Nutcracker Mash-Up In W Magazine

We know Marion Cotillard as the demure lady-like face of Dior, but now the French actress has rather surprised us with her latest cover for W Magazine. The Rust and Bone star shows us her truly cheeky side in the cover shoot for the magazine’s December issue, channeling the surreal mash-up of a fetish with erm, is that a man dressed up as the Nutcracker?

The all singing all acting beauty’s red carpet style has had a more edgy revamp since Raf Simons came on board - so is he steering his leading lady in a more sartorially adventurous direction? In her interview with the magazine, she explained her love for the darker side of life…“It is much easier for me to understand something vast and complex than something light and uncomplicated, perhaps that makes me very French.” She said laughing. “Tragedy is almost always interesting to me.”

And Cotillard is certainly not afraid of taking risks…showing her sartorial bravery in a combination of high fashion with high fetish – a Chanel Haute Couture silk tulle blouse. With Atsuko Kudo latex bodysuit anyone? Or an Iris Van Herpen plastic dress with a Dolce & Gabbana satin bodysuit? Yes yes, risky we know, but if anyone can work it its Cotillard.

Is this a look you’ll be trying at home? And do you wish Marion would stick to her ladylike Dior roots or is this her at her best? Let us know below!
