Marc Jacobs’ Most Memorable Fashion Campaigns During His Louis Vuitton Career

02 October 2013 by

With the news that Marc Jacobs is set to be leaving Louis Vuitton after 16 years at the helm of the French fashion house, we at Grazia HQ dissolved into gasps and “but he didn’t even say bye’s!” Mr. Jacobs himself hasn’t uttered a word to either nullify or confirm the story, but even so we couldn’t help but get a little bit nostalgic. Cue a gallery of the designer's best runway and personal style moments and now, while the entire industry – most of whom are still encamped in the French capital – are in a spin with questions surrounding the implications of the changing guard, we thought it would be an opportune moment to have a gander through the New York designer’s best campaigns.

It’s no secret that after almost three decades in the fashion biz, Jacobs has sparked a trend or fifty, breaking boundaries not only in how he’s chosen to adorn himself, but also for his uncanny knack for making a memorable advert, many of which have become about as famous as the collections themselves. From the many Juergen Teller-lensed off-kilter shoots for mainline Marc Jacobs through to the mega-wattage of stars and top models like Sofia Coppola, Dakota Fanning and Victoria Beckham (dressed in a carrier bag, no less!) he’s signed up for an ultra-luxurious set up courtesy of Louis Vuitton, it’s a visual feast.
