L'Wren Scott for Banana Republic

This month designer L'Wren Scott unleashed her highly anticipated high street collection with Banana Republic onto the fashion masses and we obsessed over the selection of beautiful prints, uptown blazers and pussy-bow blouses. Rocker Mick Jagger's girlfriend's designs are a fast favourite on red carpets the world over, but for the collaboration the usually pricey and exclusive pieces have been translated for the Banana Republic customer. A partnership of this scale was a first for me, and I was very excited to find a true partner in Banana Republic,' Scott revealed. 'Through this collection, we were able to bring our shared vision to life and the end result is a capsule we're both so proud to call our own.' To celebrate the new arrivals - just in time for the party season - L'Wren answers your questions...

Tell us about your first Banana Republic collection?

L'Wren Scott: It's happy, fun, and glamorous.

What is it about the brand that appeals to you?

L'Wren Scott: It's a trusted brand you can rely on. I decided to partner with Banana Republic because they could deliver the quality to my customers that they love and I am excited to have a new audience.

You appear in the campaign – what was that like to shoot? Do you feel comfortable in front of the camera?

L'Wren Scott: It was very fun being in the campaign. It was a representation of how happy and fun holiday parties are with friends. I felt comfortable shooting with Carter Smith while being amongst other friends having a good time you didn't even notice the camera. Of course as long as i never have to look at myself in the picture afterwards.

@ichsuisme: Where do you get your inspiration?

L'Wren Scott: Nature, music, art and a great book, as i love to read.

@styledialect: What unique ways have you used your previous fashion experiences to guide you as a designer/business owner?

L'Wren Scott: You realize that everyone has there own special set of problems and people come in all shapes and sizes. You try to tailor your designs to that, so there is something for everyone.

You designed Mick Jagger’s recent tour costumes – what was your favourite look?

L'Wren Scott: I loved all of them. They all were unique and had a different vibe. It was just a fun project to do

What are your plans for your own label? Will you continue to show at London Fashion Week?

L'Wren Scott: Well I can't tell you my secret plans, but stay tuned and download my new app, l'app for breaking news there first. I love showing in London as we are a British brand, and I have had nothing but positive experiences here of the capital. London is the epi center of fashion.

Which star would you most like to dress for the red carpet?

L'Wren Scott: I don’t quantify my work by red carpet dressing. I get just as excited by seeing someone on the street wearing L'wren Scott.

What’s it like when someone like Angelina Jolie wears one of your designs?

L'Wren Scott: It's extremely flattering and wonderful to see someone who is beautiful as well as a great goodwill ambassador. It's always an honor.

Were you nervous ahead of your first London Fashion Week show? What was it like?

L'Wren Scott: I'm nervous at every fashion show, whether it be New York, London or Paris.
