If you thought that the current worldwide craze for football had absolutely nothing to offer a fashion-lover, nobody would blame you. From the shiny polyester shirts to the decidedly questionable hairdos, footballers seem intent on offending each and every style sensibility. However, today we’ve been pleasantly surprised to see that one of fashion’s favourite uber-luxe brands, Louis Vuitton, has got involved with the beautiful game.

Indeed LV’s iconic logo will be dressing none other than the 2014 Fifa World Cup Winner’s Trophy with a supremely chic case, custom-made by the French luxury house. As a representative from the brand explained to WWD, “The case opens from the front and at the top to allow the trophy to be easily removed when, at the final game on July 13, it will be delivered to the captain of the winning game.” The brand also worked with Fifa in 2010, so this marks their second consecutive collaboration.
