Lily McMenamy Wishes She Was A Diva Like Her Model Mum In V Magazine: EXCLUSIVE

11 July 2013 by

For their August Issue the good people at V Magazine have rounded up it Brits, such as Lily McMenamy, Rosie Tapner and musicians such as Kate Akhurst and AlunaGeorge to feature in a 'London Calling' editorial. Very kindly they have given us a first look at the Brit-tastic shoot.

Inside the mag Lily opens up about her model mum, revealing that she wishes she could be a diva like her supermodel mama. She says 'I go with the flow. I mean, I’m not much of a diva yet. My mum got fired by her agency once because she turned down a campaign that she didn’t think was cool enough. I wish I could be like that! I’m just like, ‘Oh, cool. I’m down!’” Lils we think you're a bit of a rockstar - this is the girl who moved to Paris, fell into modelling and made her runway debut for Saint Laurent.

These two have a habit about talking about each other's work ethic, as when we spoke to Kristen back in October about her daughter following in her supermodel stride she said ‘There are two types of types of model who are successful. You either have to have exquisite beauty or drive. Hunger to pursue it every single day of your life and never give up and I don’t think Lilly has that. She’s interested in too many other things besides modelling, she loves Art history. I think that is her passion.'

Lily also talks about how she got into modelling, explaining 'It had always been my dream to finish school and move to Paris. And I went there with the intention of getting by somehow – working in cafes or whatever. And a friend of mine who’s a model said I should come meet her agency. I thought, Okay, sure. I went in there and they were extremely convincing, and I’m kind of spontaneous. And so I was like, ‘Okay!’ So I just signed a contract – I didn’t even read it! Whatevs!'

Model Rosie Tapner also features in the ode to London, drowning in sheepskin with her hair slicked back. The schoolgirl model has had a meteoric rise, bagging campaigns with Balenciaga, Topshop and counting Jourdan Dunn as a friend before she has even hit her 18th birthday. Rosie explains how she was spotted on a trip to a fashion show V Magazine 'It was probably one of the weirdest experiences of my life. I was just walking around with a friend and someone tapped me on the shoulder and told me they were form Storm and that they thought I could be a model. I just stood there in shock. I was only 15, quite a shy girl. I thought, Is this really happening? Is this a joke?!'

Issue 84 of V Magazine is set to be a good'un as it has legend Prince on the cover and includes a flashback shoot styled by Carine Roitfeld which is inspired by her own teenage style.
