Lily Collins is hitting the promotional tour for her new film, The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, and proving that with every red carpet or interview appearance not only that she resembles Audrey Hepburn, she also possesses a similar fashion prowess. And boy, are we taking notice!
The Mirror Mirror star's stylists, Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haeen, the pair originally known for their hip-hop stylings for the likes of Jay-Z and Kanye and the sexual seductress, JLO, have taken an altogether different approach with Lily. With her doll like stature and porcelain skin, Collins stands divine in sweeping long Valentino gowns. But she changes the garment gear just a notch by throwing on a leather biker with a short cocktail dress and most recently taping into THE Spring/Summer trend, the crop top. Giving her look, a younger, more rebellious feel, even when on the red carpet.
This tactical dressing goes right down to the accessories where Lily compliments her love of nail art with the most cutting edge rings and even giving her long black gown at last December's British Fashion Awards the final touch with an altogether punkier earring. Her desire to experiment went into a whole other stratosphere when she attended the MOMA ball this year in a striking Moschino number. Proving that whilst many are afraid to take risks, this is one Hollywood starlet who is not afraid to dive on in there and experiment! This is no wardrobe wallflower.
The daughter of the original ‘Easy Lover’ himself, good old Phil Collins, is also getting out the fashion map and taping into relatively unknown fashion territory. At Comic Con earlier this month, Lily went matchy matchy in emerging label Paper London and this week donned the biker wears of little known designer Christian Siriano. It seems as her star rises, with that all important role in a movie franchise, her style senses are growing stronger by the minute. It can't hinder having her bessie pals K-Stew and Jennifer Lawrence on emergency dress dial either!

With the looks of Audrey and the dressing decisions of a damsel in the style know, Lily Collins is becoming one of THE new young actresses on the fashion block ATM. With the rest of her promotional tour to come we can only image the fashion fancies which are about to unleashed, but in the meantime we have trawled through the autumn/ winter collections, above, to see what we want to see Lily in next. Will Miss Collins don the Valentino renaissance inspired embroidery, will she opt for some Raf Simons at Dior or will she follow through with her new found love for the crop top and take an even edgier camouflage Christopher Kane on?
