Let's Play Would You Rather! Stars Recreate Vintage Red Carpet Looks At Golden Globes

14 January 2014 by

It looks like the stars have been brushing up on their red carpet history, as many A-Listers recreated vintage awards season looks at the Golden Globes on Sunday. Lupita N'Yongo was obviously a fan of Gwyneth's white Tom Ford Oscars gown, as she copied the look in a Ralph Lauren column gown with caped sleeves. Miranda Kerr also did a Gwyneth wearing backless Emilio Pucci, while Amber Heard and Olivia Wilde turned to Angelina Jolie for their red carpet inspiration. So let's play a game of would you rather, shall we?

1. Gwyneth Paltrow in Tom Ford vs Lupita N'Yongo in Ralph Lauren

Gwyneth Paltrow's white caped Tom Ford gown she wore to the Oscars in 2012 is one of our all-time favourite looks so we don't blame Lupita for getting caped. Lupita N'Yongo's red Ralph Lauren is a sexier version than Gwynny's, baring her shoulders.

2. Gwyneth Paltrow in Emilio Pucci vs Miranda Kerr in Emilio Pucci

Miranda Kerr wore an almost identical dress to the white Emilio Pucci gown with a thigh slit leading into an open back that Gwyneth Paltrow wore in 2010. But Miranda hasn't delved into the archives to copy Gwynny, as this is from Pucci's  Pre-Fall 2014 collection. So who pulls off the stringy back better?

3. Angelina Jolie in Versace vs Olivia Wilde in Gucci

Olivia Wilde and her bump looked fabulous in an emerald Gucci Première sequin streamlined dress. It is very similar to Angelina's green sequin Versace gown she wore to the Globes in 2011 - she even has the same tumbling side-sweep.

4. Angelina Jolie in Versace vs Amber Heard in Versace

We've lost count of the number of times we have seen stars do an Angelina. Amber Heard was the first leg-flasher of the season, in a navy Atelier Versace gown with a thigh high slit. But does it compare to the original?

5. Sharon Stone in Gap vs Julia Roberts in Dolce & Gabbana

Back in 1998 Sharon Stone wore a white Gap shirt with a lilac Vera Wang skirt to the Oscars. It's a look that has, until now, remained in the 90s. Julia Roberts did a Sharon, wearing a Dolce & Gabbana black gown with a white stiff shirt.
