Latest Christopher Kane Rumour: Speculation That PPR Will Invest In His Label

It's been a busy month for Christopher Kane as rumours have been flying around about what lies in the future for the designer. First there was speculation that he would be the creative director of Balenciaga (rumours he later squashed) and then came the news of his shock departure from Versus. Which of course got us all guessing what he'll do to fill the Versus-sized gap in his schedule.

The latest rumour surrounding the future of Mr Kane's career is that the luxury conglomerate PPR is about to invest in the British designer, as WWD reported that PPR held discussions with Christopher about financially backing his label. PPR own luxury brands such as Stella McCartney, Alexander McQueen, Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent. Interestingly PPR also owns Balenciaga, the label that Kane was rumoured to move to.

There has been no word as of yet from either Kane or PPR, so it could just be another November 2012 Christopher Kane rumour. But if it is true, his label could become one of the world's leading luxury brands like YSL and Gucci. Perhaps this is the reason why Kane left his role at Versus, to clear up some time to transform his label into a huge global hit. Watch this space to find out whether the rumours and true...
