Since Lady Gaga stepped out of recovering from a hip operation and back into the spotlight to promote her latest album, 'ArtPop', we've noticed a few style changes. Sure there is still plenty of outfit swapping going on and one never really knows if a blonde or a brunette is going to show up on the red carpet, but her hair and make-up - and even her ensembles - have verged on minimalist.
At times, we've questioned whether we are beginning to see the real Gaga or if this is just another step in her continual quest for reinvention. One thing's for sure however is that she's definitely in character in the trailer for her debut film 'Machete Kills', which you'll remember we first reported on in July of last year. Back then we only had a movie poster to go on, which was tweeted by director Robert Rodriguez who is of course the man behind dark masterpiece Sin City. Similarly this film features a band of hot females (including Gaga) served with the deadly task of kicking some ass.
It focuses on a man called 'Machete' (Danny Trejo) who is hired by the US government to travel to Mexico and battle with an arms dealer (Mel Gibson) who is planning to launch a weapon into space. Gaga's other co-stars include major babes Sofia Vergara, Vanessa Hudgens, Amber Heard and Jessica Alba, but the singer stands out as 'La Chameléon', a yellow haired killer with a Marilyn pout.
Sporting a series of skimpy costumes, LG is seen toting a pistol and asking, 'Straight up or with some flare?' as she points the gun at Machete. Her showgirl ensemble is reminiscent of her look in the video for her hit single Telephone in which she starred with Beyonce as a murdering duo on the run after Gaga's character has endured a stint in prison. We wonder if the similarities stop there?
Also excitingly as part of the 'Machete Kills' soundtrack Lady Gaga has debuted another track from her 'ArtPop' album titled 'Aura', which you cab hear in the trailer.
