Lady Gaga steps out in her Dolce & Gabbana vs Botticelli creation (Rex Images)
She's been out of the spotlight for 6 months following a hip operation, but according to her antics this week, it's clear that Gaga's back- and by golly is she back with a bang. The 27-year old starlet was spied last night leaving her hotel in London paying homage to Renaissance artist Sandro Botticelli as she rocked a jaw-dropping, full-length frock covered in images from the artist's cult painting The Birth Of Venus. With Gaga's new single Venus available for download today, 27 October, and with a rumoured appearance on tonight's X Factor (performing the new track for the first time), it's clear that Gaga is doing all she can to up the ante for her super comeback.
Gaga's appearance last night came just a few hours after she released images of her latest single cover, which saw her posing totally in the nude. However, the songstress decided to go with attire last night as well as some rather awesome steampunk glasses which really accentuated her large (and a little goggly) eyes. The dramatic look was topped off with some glassy-looking contact lenses and white eye-make up around her eyelids- way to go, Gaga! Gaga really went all out on her wacky look, accessorising her long Dolce & Gabbana dress with brown bangles, guitar in her hand and a brown leather rucksack, which is believed to have been designed by will.i.am.
Earlier this week, Lady Gaga unveiled her Dali-esque moustache on Instagram (@ladygaga)
Lady Gaga gave fans a first listen of her new disco beat track, Venus, late on Friday, before releasing a second section in the early hours of Saturday. Explaining the first snippet on Twitter, the songstress said, 'I wrote 4 hooks in Venus. The snippet is of the first two before the true chorus. The rise before the orgasm.' Please, Gaga- you're making us blush. Although we do like the sound of the new tune, from what we've heard.
What's more, the singer was also spied earlier this week wearing a Salvador Dali-esque moustache at the premiere of her new album. Well, it is ARTPOP after all, right? We first caught sight of Lady Gaga's new album cover earlier this month and were over the moon to see it was every bit as zany as we had predicted. In fact, the background image consists of puzzle pieces of Botticelli's painting, The Birth Of Venus, and Venus is seen emerging from the sea as a fully grown woman. Is Gaga comparing herself to the classical goddess? Could this new album be Gaga's renaissance? Stay tuned ladies. We're predicting big (and wacky) things.
