Her designs have been worn by some of Tinseltown’s most feted names including Angelina Jolie, Nicole Kidman and Jennifer Lopez and she's also been put to work by her other half – a certain rock legend who goes by the name Mick Jagger – to create tour outfits for the Rolling Stones. Not bad going for a designer who only launched her fashion label in 2006 - indeed you could say L’Wren Scott is having her moment in the fashion sun right now.

So it’s little wonder then, that Banana Republic have been keen to work with the statuesque designer to create one of the year’s most exciting collaborations. The collection will consist of 50 pieces and is timed to drop into stores on 5th December. Described as a holiday collection (for the festive ‘holidays’ rather than a mid-winter sunshine jaunt) the line will include glamorous separates from silk blouses to fitted jackets. L’Wren elaborates further on the collection, telling WWD, “The blouses are gorgeous. I did some really great L jeans, my signature jean, in fun colors and a nice brocade. I also did a drawing, a peony print from my garden, and put it on jeans.” With sumptuous wintery fabrics like velvet and brocades, the collection is sure to have plenty on offer for the party season.

She also explained why she decided to make the leap from her ultra-high end label which is renowned for its couture-like finishing to the democracy of high street fashion, “Banana Republic is somewhere I used to shop and something I grew up with. From a quality point of view and their price point, it was really impressive.” As well as kitting you out for your Christmas dos, the collection might also help your festive present list. “I love the fact that it has a lot of gifting [in the collection],” Scott said, “I’m obsessed with gifting. There’s a lot of fun things in the collection, like a little clutch bag with a jewelled rock ’n’ roll gunmetal chain that comes off and can be worn as a necklace.” Sounds like L’Wren's got Christmas all wrapped up!
