Another day, another Twilight premiere. Here at Grazia towers we’re suffering from a serious case of Kristen Stewart obsession, and her fashion choices are adding serious fuel to the flames of our fixation.
Last night’s appearance in a Zuhair Murad jumpsuit provoked perhaps the most heated fashion desk debate of the year with loyalists defending Kristen’s sequins and detractors saying she’s lost her magic touch. In what is becoming a regular feature, Team Grazia slogs it out – with lovers and haters having their say. But what we want to know is what you think of Kristen’s sexy one piece, so give us your verdict below!
How brilliant to see a red carpet stalwart who is actually prepared to take a risk. Fashion trainspotters will know that K-Stew is channelling Oscar heroines Barbra Streisand in Arnold Scaasi circa 1968 and Cher in Bob Mackie circa 1986 and that can only be a good thing. The fine line between good taste and bad taste, fragility and rockstar glamour, and sex appeal teetering on the edge of plain rudeness is being walked here and the end result is pure genius. I applaud her courage and bow down at her altar.
Susannah Frankel, Grazia Fashion Director
K-Stew is like an on-off boyfriend. She builds you up, filling you with hope of better times, then stamps on your dreams in a heartbeat. I have no problem with the top half of this look, it’s racy and elegant and the open back is divine. If someone could do a Paul Daniels on her – ie: cut her body in half – I’d be dandy. But the sequin flares / chaps hybrid is a fashion crime too far for me, or indeed for anyone. Apart from being majorly old lady – this is so a Jane Fonda at the Oscars look – the crotch and bum scalloped shaping reminds me of the worse of X-tina’s Diiirrrrty days. And the visible pointy shoes do absolutely nothing to help the situation. Nul Points.
