Kim Kardashian's Pregnancy Style Rules: From Working With Nicola Formichetti To Staying Matchy-Matchy With Kanye West

18 March 2013 by

The inimitable Kim Kardashian - aka Kanye’s babymama - hasn’t been letting her due date interfere with her bid for serious fashion cred. We’ve seen her working a Givenchy tuxedo at the brand’s catwalk show, a white Mugler trouser and folded coat combo at the airport, vertiginous heels by Tom Ford and several pairs of JBrand maternity jeans which she says are, “a blessing because they make me feel slim and comfortable.”

She’s also been enlisting the help of a pair of seriously stylish men to kickstart her maternity wardrobe. First up of course is her boyfriend Kanye, who is rumoured to reprise his currently defunct catwalk label next season. Kanye famously cleared out Kim’s closet and now his penchant for structured designs and monochromatic colour palettes has influenced the mom-to-be in her pregnancy fashion choices.

Also reportedly on Kim’s fashion team is legendary stylist and Mugler designer Nicola Formichetti. Known for creating Lady Gaga’s outré style – we’re talking that meat dress, people- Formichetti maybe not have been the most likely choice for giving bump tips. But if recent pictures are anything to go by he certainly seems to be having a great influence.

While Kim has been pulling off her fashion-forward pregnancy look with aplomb, she has admitted that she doesn’t always find dressing her new shape easy. On her blog Kim reveals, “For me, I’ve found that I’ve gained inches and I’ve gotten wider but my belly hasn’t popped yet, so I struggle finding things that don’t make me look heavy.” As Kim stocks up on a whole new wardrobe and says she is “definitely having fun with maternity fashion,” but also discloses that she’s, “more focused on concealing the weight gain than about dressing the bump.”

So click through the pictures above and try and guess who has put together which looks, Kim herself, Kanye or Nicola!
