Kim Kardashian’s pregnancy wardrobe has been one of the most talked about in history. While the world has ogled her every outfit since day bump, criticising her both for sticking with her signature skin-tight dresses and stiletto heels, and for making forays into more free-flowing outfits and experimenting with trousers and peplums. On the Grazia fashion team, we reckon Kimmy K should be allowed to wear whatever the heck she likes pre-baby.
In the new issue of Grazia, the star reveals that she's not confident about her pregnant body. We met up with Kim and her sisters Khloe and Kourtney in LA to discuss the new Kardashian Kollection for Spring Summer 2013 when Kim admitted that she's now about to start covering up. 'This is how I have always dressed, and right now I'm wearing anything that fits.'
Indeed, the show must go on for our Kim and she’s doing it in head-to-toe designer just like she always does. Over the past six months of maternity wardrobe monitoring, she's been sporting a selection of black mini-dresses (the girl has great legs, no?) and monochrome tailoring, most of which made us feel a little claustrophobic and overwhelmed by blouses and tight fitting fabrics.
But the absolute fashion world highpoint for Kimmy must have been the Met Ball last week for which she donned Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci. Although social media sites had a field day comparing her floral frock to both lounge furniture, and Mrs Doubtfire, we though she looked rather fierce in her own Kim Kardashian way, and even Mr Givenchy himself, Riccardo Tisci chimed in to defend her look.
'I wanted to have a moment of family: Kim, Kanye and the baby,' said the designer. 'We should give her our punk moment with a romantic beautiful flower-printed dress. I have dressed many pregnant women in the past. To me, pregnancy is the most beautiful thing in the world, and when you celebrate something, you give people flowers. I think she looked amazing. She was the most beautiful pregnant woman I dressed in my career.'
