UPDATE: WWD have confirmed that Kim Kardashian did indeed wear a Givenchy couture gown to marry Kanye West in Florence today. Her veil and accessories also came courtesy of the fashion house's Italian designer. In true matchy style, the groom also wore a custom wedding tuxedo from Givenchy and even North West got in on the haute couture action with a dress to match her mum's. Oh, the cuteness. Read more about the dress here.
24 May 2014: Did The Bride Wear Givenchy?
It's official! After weeks and months of excitement, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are finally man and wife. The ceremony took place today at the Forte di Belvedere in Florence, Italy and, naturally, we were live-blogging every minute. So what of the dress?
Well, although there's been no confirmation, hints have emerged that the bride wore a white Givenchy gown to walk down the aisle. Givenchy bags were spotted arriving in Florence earlier today and E! News reports that Kim had dress fittings with Givenchy's creative director Riccardo Tisci ahead of her Big Day. Of course, it could've been for another dress or indeed for a frock she's due to wear tomorrow but it would hardly be surprising if she did turn to the same man who dressed her for the Met Ball last year.
Of course, Tisci and Kimye have become close friends with the Italian designer even hailing Kim as "the Marilyn Monroe of our age," in an interview with The Sunday Times. A paparrazzi shot of the gown is being circulated on Twitter and either way, it looks suitably glorious. See the Kate Middleton-esque lace sleeves, the sheer panels at the waist and that wonderfully ethereal veil. Bravo Kimmy! So stay tuned, folks, we'll be bringing you confirmation either way as soon as it lands...
23 May 2014: The Bets Are On! So Who Will Design Kim's Dress?

Kim Kardashian has become the master of media manipulation, employing a serious amount of subterfuge to misdirect the press in their attempts to get to the bottom of her wedding plans. But one thing is for sure – whether her nuptials take place in Florence or Paris this weekend, fashion is going to take centre stage.
The soon to be Mrs Kanye West has become one of the world’s pre-eminent fashion dolls, with friends at the highest echelons of the industry. Whether it’s close friend Ricardo Tisci (Givenchy’s Creative Director) or confidant Azzedine Alaia, Kim is BFFs with some of fashion’s topdogs.
Kim Kardashian's Three Vera Wang Gowns for Her 2011 Wedding to Kris Humphries
Even before her ascension to the planet fashion throne, Kim wasn’t exactly low key when it came to her sartorial choices. Note the THREE Vera Wang dresses she wore for her second wedding to basketball player Kris Humphries in 2011. This time around multiple designers have been in the picture to dress Kimberly Noel Kardashian. Below we examine the likelihood that each of the front running designers will bag the wedding dress of the year. Here are the favourites...
Not only has she just worked a mini dress by Balmain’s Creative Director Olivier Rousteing for her Parisian hen-do, but Kim has also been a longstanding fan of the label’s designs. Perfectly tuning into her ultra luxe, razor sharp tailored aesthetic, Balmain would be a natural but racy option for her to say 'I do' in.

2. Riccardo Tisci for Givenchy
Tisci and Kim have a long history and she has worn designs by the Italian designer on countless occasions – who could forget the floral floorsweeper she donned for the 2013 Met Ball while pregnant with baby North? The pair are genuinely close friends and Tisci often features on Kim's instagram feed so if she wanted something personal, he would be the number 1 option making Givenchy a safe bet for the wedding gown winner.

3. Azzedine Alaia
The king of precision cutting, what Azzedine Alaia doesnt know about flattering a woman's body isn't worth knowing. Several of his body hugging, feminine dresses are currently hanging in Ms Kardashian's closet and she's been spotted out and about in Paris this week on his arm, fuelling the rumours he's about to get the nod from Kimye.

The Met Ball has become the ultimate fashion showcase with A-listers using the event to make their mark on the style spectrum. This year Kim chose to wear a draped dress by one of her favourite designers - Alber Elbaz, Lanvin's Creative Director. She wore a jewelled number by Elbaz during her preganacy and has experimented with every colour of the rainbow in his silk frocks.

Aside from the fact that multiple Valentino garment bags have been pictured arriving at Kim and Kanye's hotel and they've just set off for brunch at the Valentino Chateau (major hint, people!) Kim has been a loyal Valentino customer through her many fashion incarnations. When it comes to creating fairytale gowns, Valnetino's designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli are nigh on peerless.

And let's not forget the outside runners...
Kim's new penchant for conceptual fashion has certainly been influenced by her husband to be. Since they've landed in Paris, we've seen them pop into both the Saint Laurent and Celine stores on Avenue Montaigne, take a meeting at the Maison Martin Margiela showroom and do some window shopping in Versace. Another offbeat option might include Brit designer Gareth Pugh who designed the fringed mini dress she wore for a recent date with Kanye and is known for his uber fashion, conceptual gowns.

Kim has also been wearing lots of Calvin Klein recently and it wouldn't be a huge surprise if she stripped everything back and went with the label's designer Fransisco Costa, aka the master of minimalism. Italian designer Ermanno Scervino has recently spoken about his freindship with Kanye and Kim has already been spotted in Paris wearing a suede strapless dress by the brand. The plot thickens!
