Keira Knightley Recycles Chanel Wedding Dress For SeriousFun Gala

We all have items in our wardrobes that we turn to time and time again from cosy jumpers to figure flattering LBDs, but when that old faithful is your wedding dress it's a little difficult to slip under the radar. Keira Knightley proved her green goddess credentials last night by stepping out in her bridal gown for a third time as she attended the SeriousFun Gala at the Roundhouse in London with her husband, rocker James Righton of The Klaxons.

Unbelievably the Anna Karenina star's wedding day earlier this year wasn't even the first time she was spotted in the blush tulle strapless frock, as we were quick to point out that she'd actually worn it to a pre-Bafta party with her former flame Rupert Friend back in 2008. We can entirely understandable why the Chanel girl might be drawn to the ballet inspired creation by designer Karl Lagerfeld, as it's super girly while showcasing her svelte frame.

Keira and James tied the knot in the Hotel de Ville in the village Mazan in Provence in May 2013. The British duo kept the service ultra low-key with only 11 guests present in the village town hall, including James' bandmates and Keira's The Edge of Love co-star Sienna Miller. The 28-year-old was the very antithesis of an over-styled celebrity bride, teaming her simple dress with a classic cream Chanel boucle jacket and a pair of pink ballet pumps.

The couple's chilled out, rock ‘n’ roll ceremony – some guests were dressed in jeans – provided plenty of food for thought for brides who don’t go in for the bridezilla madness. The decision not to wear a traditional bridal gown, but instead an elegant piece from the Chanel Couture archives means that Keira can continue to wear her wedding day ensemble for years to come.

She's not letting it get tired however, as the dress has now been reworked with a sheer long-sleeved top and intricate beading around the décolletage. The newlywed actually glammed it up a little more than she did for her nuptials by swapping flats for gold, strappy stilettos and rocking a smokey eyed beauty look. Keira and James were joined by the likes of Kate Nash, James Blunt and Boris Becker at the star-studded gala.

Samantha Decker (Thu Dec 05 02:16:57 GMT 2013): I don't care that she does this, it's economic, refreshing for a star to be so down-to-earth, and it's a pretty dress that's only wedding-y element of the dress is the color.
Tessa McInnes (Mon Dec 09 21:14:57 GMT 2013): Brilliant - I wish more celebs would recycle fave frocks - if it ain't broke, why fix it? My husband asked me to get a wedding dress that I could wear again, bless.
