The likes of Kate Middleton have made wardrobe recycling totally acceptable in the celebrity world, but it's not often you see someone rewearing their wedding dress. Then there was Keira Knightley.
The actress married James Righton last year wearing a frothy Chanel frock that she'd already worn for a red carpet event. Cue gasp number one. Fast forward a few months and she cracked it out again for the SeriousFun Children's Network London Gala. Cue gasp number two. Now, in an interview with The Telegraph, Keira reveals that it's because she feels so comfortable in the dress.
'I'd worn the dress lots. It was my something old,' she says of her wedding day ensemble. 'And I liked not making a big deal about it. I just wanted to be in something I had had a great time in, something I would have a great time in again.' Well that makes sense.
What's more, Karl Lagerfeld designed a jacket to give it a fresh spin. Topped off with a pair of Ray Ban sunnies and nude pumps, it's become one of our favourite wedding outfits ever.

But it looks like we may not be seeing the dress for a fourth time. Why? Because it's now covered in red wine. Oops. 'I didn't quite realise the extent of it until I got home,' she says of the spillage. 'It's quite impressively splattered. But, hey, a good night is a good night and when a dress has had its time, maybe it's had its time. I'm pretty sure I can get it out but, if I can't, I'm happy with the memory of a good night and the story of how the dress got destroyed.' What with Lily Allen losing her wedding gown and Keira's splattering hers in wine, we're wondering whether there's a Chanel wedding dress curse we're not aware of?
The interview also sees Keira dishing on being the face of Chanel's Coco Mademoiselle fragrance which inevitably means first dibs on Monsieur Lagerfeld's creations. 'I get to dress up as somebody different. When I'm on the red carpet, it's, 'Oooh, who am I going to be tonight?' And I like that, I think that's quite fun.'
But she doesn't always get precedence on the French fashion house's frocks. 'A couple of times the archive stuff has been made available to me, though it doesn't always work because sometimes other people have bagsied the dress,' she says. And by 'other people', she means American Vogue. Yep, there's no getting round Anna Wintour, even if you are Karl's muse.
