Katy Perry is on the promo rounds this month for the launch of her new album 'Prism' and we're certainly not complaining. The popstrel popped up on The X Factor and The Graham Norton Show this weekend looking utterly delightful and noticeably more demure. Yes, gone are the swirling bras and PVC hot pants and in their place are buttoned up shift dresses and ladylike accessories. So what's going on, K-Pez?
The 28-year-old explains that her sartorial shift is all about her maturing music style. Katy confessed to Graham Norton that she no longer feels the need to strip off and prance about on candy floss clouds a la 'California Gurls' and is ready to show her true self. 'The last album was very cartoony and over the top and this one is a little bit more vulnerable, raw and a lot more present,' says La Perry. 'I think I’m finally okay accepting the information that I’m a grown up. I like clothes to stay on now.' Well, who'da thought it!

There's no doubt that the star has ditched her super-vibrant, naughty-but-nice wardrobe of late, with many saying her romance with John Mayer has had an effect on the more sophisticated look. Indeed, Katy's been looking to the likes of Saint Laurent and Chanel, particularly during Paris Fashion Week when she sported an array of tres chic ensembles [above].
After FROWing at the Chanel show, we saw Katy in a printed buttoned-up blouse and matching skirt from Fausto Puglisi's Resort 2014 collection styled with Chanel's Lego clutch, reflective shades and black sandals. The next day, she stepped out in a near identical outfit consisting of Emanuel Ungaro's monochrome dandelion-print top and skirt with her hair scraped back during a trip to Collette. Talk about a style overhaul!
She's ditched her kooky costumes and burnt her blue wig so is this really the end of cartoon-tastic K-Pez? Check out her style-volution in the gallery below and let us know your verdict...
