We have a major soft spot for singer/songwriter couple John Mayer and Katy Perry, not least because the photogenic twosome are both incredibly talented and seem to be navigating a highly public relationship with authenticity and style. Today Perry x Mayer have given us yet another reason to love them as they released the cover art for their new single – a duet entitled ‘Who You Love,’ and Vanity Fair have followed with a shoot of the pair lensed by Mario Sorrenti.
What we were particularly struck by is how the duo’s style has become more complimentary over time with kitsch queen Katy taking on a more low-key, dishevelled rock ‘n’ roll look beside her tousled boyfriend. In one image we have John in a western style denim shirt with Katy clad in only an oversized sweater and bed-look hair while in another a suave looking John sits in a chic black shirt sits with Katy sensually draping her arm over his shoulder. Wearing a seductive black silk slip and nothing else, she looks every inch the rockstar goddess.
'Who Do You Love' by John Mayer & Katy Perry
Shot by one of fashion’s most sought after photographers – Mario Sorrenti – the images are both intimate and simple, showing the couple completely in tune. The single taken from Mayer’s sixth album Paradise Valley is a love song and John tweeted the cover alongside this message: “Proud of this song, proud of this artwork, proud of this girl.” Swoon!
