The Gang by Hogan Spring/ Summer 2014 collection - Katie Grand's third collaboration with Hogan - will be unveiled to selected guests at Milan Fashion Week today, but we've already grabbed an exclusive chat with the Love magazine editor-in chief and stylist about her latest designs and model ambassadors. To coincide with the launch Grand has also produced the third issue of Gang magazine featuring a who's who of the catwalk from style icons Linda Evangelista and Stephanie Seymour to relative newcomers Georgia May Jagger and Edie Campbell - all of whom Grand describes as 'the perfect complement for this collection'.
And as with previous seasons there will also be an accompanying video coming soon. Last time round saw Cara Delevingne recording a rendition of '80s hit 'I Want Candy - so stay tuned to see what Katie has up her sleeve next.
For Spring/ Summer 2014 the collection has been expanded to include clothing. Read our Q&A with the designer herself to find out what else we can expect from Gang by Hogan and how she rounds up her supermodel pals...
Grazia Daily: How did you develop the Gang by Hogan collection for Spring/Summer 2014?
Katie Grand: We worked on a complete look this season rather than focusing on shoes which we did to begin with because they are what Hogan is best known for. Now, there’s more concentration on handbags and I did some knickers, jackets and a slip dress in leather.
Grazia Daily: Tell us about the jackets…
Katie Grand: One is very masculine – it’s a men’s casual sports jacket, and it’s oversized. Then there’s a shrunken version, narrow across the shoulders and a little bit cropped. It seems to me that people wear jackets in two sizes, either too small or too big.
Grazia Daily: You've got the third issue of Gang too, is it important for you to have a magazine alongside the collection?
Katie Grand: I think it is, because it is a way for me to articulate what I do within familiar territory. I really enjoy doing the photo-shoot and putting the magazine together and the same goes for the video. It was brilliant to have the likes of Stephanie Seymour, Linda Evangelista and Edie Campbell in the room at the same time because they get on so well. It's amazing that these iconic women are wearing things that I've designed. It makes me nervously excited!?
Grazia Daily: How do you decide who's going be in the Gang?
Katie Grand: I suppose I always put together a wish list honestly assuming everyone is going to be too busy or say no. I'm very lucky that they all say yes. The list gets longer as the range gets bigger! So, I think the magazine this time is 50 pages. We shot in New York and it includes everyone from Joan Smalls and Frankie Rayder to Liu Wen and Georgia May Jagger. She’s on the cover. They’re all very nice and supportive.

Grazia Daily: The heart is the signature motif of Gang by Hogan - what do you love about it?
Katie Grand: I think when you set out to do this kind of thing you hope to have some codes. The heart is something that we developed for the first season and it seems to have stuck. It looks right. This season the bags have an enamel and silver heart on them. You never sit down and think I'm going to work on the 'It' bag, or the 'It' shoe, or the 'It' sunglasses. Something’s only an 'It' once it's out there.
Grazia Daily: What can we expect from this season's Gang by Hogan launch party?
Katie Grand: We've decided to work on an all day event, instead of just an evening thing. We're at a gentleman's club called Societa Del Giardino and guests can book to have breakfast, lunch or afternoon tea and then the party comes later. The club has never been used for a fashion event before. They don't usually let women in, so that's quite funny too. There's this amazing room where they practice fencing...
Grazia Daily: Your collections are very practical - what 5 things do you always travel with?
Katie Grand: A black dress, a pair of jeans and my Iggy Pop t-shirt. Oh yeah, and a toothbrush, toothpaste and a good pair of sandals.
Grazia Daily: Have you spotted any future fashion stars this season?
Katie Grand: Natalia Siodmiak from IMG is in the magazine this issue, so is Natalie Westling, who opened the Marc Jacobs show, and is with Society Models and Esmerelda Seay-Reynolds from Next, who closed Marc's show. They are my three ones to watch!
Grazia Daily: We know you must be very busy, but which shows will you attend during Fashion Month?
Katie Grand: I went to Sister by Sibling in London and I’ll go to Prada in Milan and then Balenciaga in Paris because it’s scheduled so early in the morning, it's before we start work at Louis Vuitton. I hope to go to Nina Ricci too. I try and see my friends’ shows.
Grazia Daily: And then finally we luuuurve your Instagram photos - who do you follow?
Katie Grand: I really like Vintage Daily - a lot of inspiration for the shows comes from that one. I'm always screen-grabbing those pictures and sending them onto Louis Vuitton or Marc Jacobs. Then there's Glen Luchford, and Richard Habberley's which is really good for a 1980s club moment. Oh, and Little Grey Rabbit, I think it's a Japanese one, but there are lots of pictures of this very cute grey rabbit.
