First it was Suzy Menkes, then Kate Moss was announced as the lucky winner of a Special Recognition accolade at the British Fashion Awards. The superdupermodel picked up the honour at the glitzy soiree, which is taking place at the London Coliseum as we speak/ tweet. She picked up her award from the King of Fashion, Marc Jacobs, who said 'London might have two Kates, but in my mind there is only one. The one the only Kate Moss'
Kate told guests at the ceremony, 'Thank you Marc and thank you everyone that I've worked with and has kept booking me. I love working with you all. Thank you.' She then did a twirl, natch. Of course, this isn't Kate's first BFAs gong. You'll remember she was previously awarded model of the year in 2006 and in 2009, she was the first individual to receive The London 25 Award decided entirely by public vote.
It marks another milestone in Mossy's remarkable 25 year-long career. It all began back in 1988 when she was discovered in New York by Sarah Doukas, founder of Storm Model Management. Fast forward to today and Kate continues to be THE style icon of her generation with the most covetable wardrobe on planet fashion and a CV packed with top-notch campaigns.
As if you were in any doubt, there's a couple of people who want to sing her praises...
“Kate Moss has made many people dream. And not only people that look at fashion but those that create it as well. The moment she puts on an outfit, it takes another identity. She adds personality to fashion and I personally, can never get enough of her.”
“From the very beginning Kate was iconic; she never had to become a model. She has the same energy, the same seduction and the same wit - infront of the camera and with everyone, I love you Kate!”
