Kate Moss Celebrates Her 20 Years Of i-D Cover Shoots With Another Four!

i-D's Pre-Spring issue featuring four different covers of Kate Moss

Just in case Kate Moss’ modelling legacy and status as the most influential Brit fashion icon of all time wasn’t forever etched into history, 2013 is shaping up to be the year that will put a bow round it and a cherry on top. You see, La Moss, 38, has bagged a string of high profile campaigns for spring/summer 2013 (with such major names as Versace, Givenchy and a Rag & Bone shoot in her country haven - The Cotswolds) and right now she’s not only starring on the cover of LOVE magazine, but in four versions of i-D, too; in honour of the working relationship the magazine and muse have had for the past two decades.

“Kate first featured on the cover of i-D in 1993.” Says the magazine’s founder Terry Jones of shoot lensed by photographer and Moss’ mentor, the late Corinne Day, “Little did we know that this impish imperfect beauty would end up an international superstar and on more i-D covers than any other!“

For all the ups and downs of Mossy’s much-watched career and personal life, the Croydon-girl-done-good (who was first discovered by Storm Models’ founder Sarah Doukas in an airport in 1988) remains (almost) the same fresh-faced little wild-child, whose feline eyes and glass-cutting cheekbones still make a bloomin’ brilliant picture. And as a woman of few words, she remains an enigma, so it’s no wonder our fascination with her – both in and outside of fashion – is insatiable. Thanks to the magazine’s back catalogue of countless era-defining covers since Kate’s formative debut aged 19, you can scroll through the gallery below and see Kate as a leopard, a sergeant, totally make-up free or a vampy peroxide blonde…
