A selection of photos of Kate Moss taken in 1990 are going to be displayed in a new exhibition at the Galerie ArtCube in Paris. The snaps were shot by former pop star and photographer Kate Garner right at the start of Mossy's career and will hang alongside a range of Helmut Newton nudes.

Originally commissioned for Esquire, the images show a 16-year-old Mossy smoking a cigarette at a cafe while as well as posing semi-nude in her boyfriend's underwear after spending the night at his house.  The most provocative shots show her cuddling a teddy bear in thigh-high socks and knickers with her hair pulled into a messy bun.

Photographer Kate talked to The Cut about the pictures, saying that the editors of Esquire weren't originally fans of Kate's waif-like look, ditching the shots and dismissing her model potential.

'Kate still hadn't broken through the battle line of the supermodels of that time,' she said. 'I wanted to show the glamour that we could see underneath the waif portrayal.'

'Having been a skinny, very young-looking, baby-faced adolescent growing up in the 70s in England, I had had people react to that nubile sexuality in a strong way throughout my life. And I recognized it in Kate.'

Kate hit the stage at the BRIT Awards on Wednesday to collect David Bowie's award for him. Sporting a playsuit he'd donned in 1972 she  read the following message: 'In Japanese myth the rabbits from my old costume which Kate is wearing live on the moon. Kate comes Venus and I from Mars. I'm completely delighted to have a Brit for being the Best Male but I am, aren't I Kate? I think it's a great way to end the day, thank you very, very much and Scotland, stay with us.'
