Not content with the crown jewels, the Duchess of Cambridge was out tonight at the Natural History Museum to see their new Treasures gallery. Ok, so the treasures on display aren’t exactly diamonds – rather rare fossils – but Kate still looked impressed as she looked around the exhibition in her Mulberry dress and debuting a new Farrah Fawcett style hair cut.

It was the second time Kate has worn the green, pleated dress by British designers, Mulberry. We first saw the £1400 so-called 'Cabbage' dress at Buckingham Palace, where Kate admitted to Grazia's editor-in-chief Jane Bruton she'd had to think about coordinating the outfit with other members of the Royal Family present. Tonight, she had no such issues. Flying solo, she asked the curators of the museum questions about the fossils, including one that’s 147 million years old. (And, no, we’re talking her grandfather, Philip!)

It’s not the first time Kate’s been associated with the classic but quirky British design house, Mulberry. She took the Polly Push bag on her tour of Canada and LA and has been spotted in the brand's wool skirt while shopping casually on the Kings Road.

Her outfit clearly went down well for her night at the museum, too. ‘We are thrilled Her Royal Highness is joining us to celebrate the opening of Treasures. We hope that she will be the first of many visitors to discover everything the Museum represents in this special gallery,’ said Dr Michael Dixon, Director of the Natural History Museum.
