As we type Kate and Wills are tucking in to their first Christmas lunch of the season, at Buckingham Palace no less! This afternoon Prince William drove the Duchess of Cambridge to the palace for a festive feast with senior royals, including the Queen, Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Sophie Wessex and Princess Beatrice. Unfortunately there is no evidence that their little prince George is there in a mini Santa suit.
So what does one wear to a Christmas party with the Queen? Kate always dresses for the occassion - in Scotland she wears tartan, on St Paddy's day she wears green etc - so it's no great shocker that she turned up in Santa red. Kate has recycled her old favourite Armani red coat, which she first wore back in 2006.
As we can't see below the Range Rover dashboard, Kate's Christmas party frock remains a mystery. But we do know she is re-wearing her Catherine Zoraida double leaf gold earrings, which can be yours for £140. If you move fast that is!
K Middy first wore this poppy red number back in 2006 to William's passing out parade at Sandhurst. She was last spotted in the coat earlier this year on the second day of her Scotland tour, paired with knee high black boots and a yellow tartan scarf.
The Duchess is a fan of a crimson coat and now has quite the collection in her wardrobe at Kensington Palace. You might remember she wore a red L.K. Bennett belted coat last month on poppy day. She also sported a scarlet Marianne coat-dress by Catherine Walker on her final stop in Canada and an aubergine tailored coat in Newcastle in 2012.
