The Royal Family Are Out In Force To Celebrate The Queen's Coronation Anniversary At Westminster Abbey

Kate Middleton and Prince Harry arriving

What a lovely day for a celebration! On this sunny morning, a stunning service at Westminster Abbey is taking place in honour of our Queen who was coronated 60 years ago. It's a right royal hoo-ha with members of her immediate family - including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge - joining HRH.

The Queen's husband Prince Philip is due to attend, despite pulling out of an engagement on Monday night because he was feeling unwell. Prince Harry, Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, the Earl and Countess of Wessex and Zara Phillips are also joining the celebrations and you know what that means? Lots of dainty fascinators, ladylike coat dresses and fancy nude heels. Hoorah!

If you can rely on anyone to provide the fancy headgear, it's Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie. How fabulous!

Princess Anne, the Queen's only daughter, also looks fancy in a neutral palette consisting of an ivory hat and blush pink coat dress.

Queen Elizabeth II's Coronation in 1953

Can you believe it's been sixty years since Queen Elizabeth's reign began back in 1952? She practised wearing the heavy, solid gold St Edward's Crown around Buckingham Palace in the weeks before her Coronation, even when she was giving her kids a bath! The crown is on display at the ceremony today as is the coronation chair.

The Queen arrives!

In a touching tribute, the Queen entered Westminster Abbey to the very same music that greeted her on her coronation day when she was a fresh-faced 27-year-old. And brilliantly, some of the very same people who participated in the 1953 service are in the congregation too.

Riveting stuff, eh folks?

It's also an emotional day for Wills and Kate - today is the first time the couple has attended a public event at the abbey since their wedding day two years ago. The heavily pregnant Duchess looks divine in a bespoke delicate daisy lace dress with silver grey ribbon detail worn with a soft peach silk shantung jacket by one of her favourite Brit designers, Jenny Packham.
