It was just a few weeks ago that Grazia Daily was at the Mulberry press day, perusing the beauties on display and wondering whether the Duchess of Cambridge might them. And today, we have our answer.
Kate Middleton at today's Scouting Parade
Because for the annual Scouting Parade, Kate Middleton didn't rewear that neckerchief - instead, she returned to Mulberry, opting to wear the spring-like frayed coat in mint cotton tweed. The coat, from the Brit brand's Spring Summer 2013 collection, is adorned with floral gold buttons, oversize pockets and frayed seams. It was available for £1,750 from www.mulberry.com but is now - yup - sold out. It's a nice fine example of how Kate is staying true to her signature coat dresses while pregnant.
Kate Middleton mixes Mulberry with LK Bennett
The Duchess topped off the look with those infamous LK Bennett Sledge heels and the Cappucino fascinator by Whiteley that she wore at the Epsom Derby as well as Emily McCorquodale's wedding. The patent clutch, however, is entirely new - it's also from LK Bennett and is known as the Avona clutch, which is available for £195 from www.lkbennett.com. She topped off the look with a pair of Kiki McDonough green amethyst earrings. As for her growing baby bump, Kate kept it hidden under the buttoned-up coat and used a bouquet of flowers as an excellent distraction.
Mulberry has had several royal seals of approval
Kate has become a firm Mulberry fan in recent years, flying the flag for all things British while working a classic but quirky label that is just as popular with hipster types like Alexa Chung and Kate Bosworth. She first impressed us with some Mulbs action when displaying that Polly Push bag on her tour of Canada and LA before being spotted in the brand's wool skirt while shopping casually on the Kings Road. Her next step was wearing that gorgeous green Cabbage dress at a Buckingham Palace event, which she repeated a year later for the opening of the Museum’s Treasures Gallery.
The event took place at Windsor Castle on this sunny Sunday where Kate was joined by Bear Grylls (who knew he's UK Scouting’s Chief Scout?). Meanwhile, the Queen is celebrating her actual birthday today and as she turns 87, we took a trip down memory to see her finest outfits.
As for Kate, you can see her best looks in the gallery below...
