UPDATE
It's only been 24 hours since we discovered what Kate Middleton bought on her Topshop splurge last week, and the dress has already sold out. Wowza talk about the Kate effect. At 2pm yesterday the Lovestruck website crashed as it received over 60,000 hits when the news spread that K Mids bought the Deirdre dress from Topshop's flagship Oxford Circus store. At one point a dress sold every minute but now surprise surprise, they have all gone. But worry not you can still get your hands on Kate's dress as they are accepting pre-orders.
Lovestruck witnessed a 500% sales rise in March thanks to the High Street princess, going against when Mr Roland Mouret said that she doesn't sell clothes. The designer said Kim Kardashian would sell more clothes than the Duchess: 'The kind of people who like Kate’s style are not the kind to rush out and copy her dress. You don’t see hundreds of women running around looking like her.'

'Deirdre dress' - £37
Last week Kate Middleton had a spree at Topshop's flagship Oxford Street Store, and fellow shoppers tweeted that she was looking 'beautiful' wearing pearl earrings and black leggings. But of course we wanted more details - was she shopping in the maternity section? What did she buy? And can we buy it?!
Well now we can take a look inside her Toppers bag, and reveal that she bought a floral £37 dress from the concession brand Lovestruck. She didn't find the 'Deirdre dress' in the maternity section but that doesn't mean it'll go to the back of her wardrobe, as the brand said that 'The Duchess would be able to wear the dress throughout her entire pregnancy due to its elasticated waist band, enabling the dress to expand beyond the bump.' Clever Kate.

Kate Middleton in florals
The floral print dress is a new look for K Mids, as she tends to stick to simple block colours. She experimented with jazzy floral prints on her Asian tour in the summer, where she wore frocks by designer brands Alice Temperley, Prabal Gurung and Erdem.
But we're glad to see that for her maternity wardrobe Kate is sticking to her affordable fashion formula and wearing high street heros like Toppers. The Duchess is a fan of recycling old frocks and wearing past-season pieces, so we're happy to see she is finally buying items that are in season right now. But the question is when will she wear it?
The Lovestruck dress is also available in purple and you can buy it online from lovestruckclothing.co.uk. We predict the Deirdre dress will sell out A-SAP thanks to a little thing we like to call the Kate Effect - so buy quickly.
