Yet again, Kate Hudson proves she’s not just a pretty face as she poses up a storm for Ann Taylor’s new Autumn Winter 2013 campaign. But this time, the 34-year-old actress has enlisted her nephews (who are adorable, we might add) to sum up the season’s theme: the joys of being a working mother. Amen to that! But somehow Kate manages to make it look so easy...
Snapped by Mikael Jansson, Kate takes over a Beverly Hills home to position her as the chicest mum we ever did see. She lays amongst a pile of scripts with her hair in glossy waves, she prances through a rain shower in a pair of dainty heels and cooks with the boys without a fluff of flour on her pristine dress. No apron needed! That's one way of making mere mortal mums feel sliiiightly inadequate.
However, the brand insists that Hudson reflects Ann Taylor’s target demographic of multitasking career women. She has certainly got a lot on her plate - she has two children of her own, is married to Muse musician Matt Bellamy and has a Golden Globe-winning Hollywood career.
'It’s a little bit about how I live and a lot about how women live every day. As working moms, we’re all just figuring it out as we go, right?' Kate tells WWD of the campaign ethos. So what's her tip for that work-life balance? 'I’d say, try to be present. When you’re at your job, be 100 percent committed to it and do the very best you can. And when you go home at night, leave all the work behind and show up completely for your family. That’s the best part of your day, so really be there.'
