When it comes to killer collaborations, Topshop takes some beating. Last week, we heard that the original collab queen, Kate Moss, will be making a comeback at the high-street store next April, but if that seems aeons away, have no fear because another Kate is rocking the Topshop crowd. For her second tie-in with the label, actress Kate Bosworth has come up with a line of chic, pared-back designs in high-end fabrics. The minimalist capsule collection includes immaculately cut leather trousers in rock-star-ready shades of black, white and red, crinkle-finish silver tees and sharp but simple coats. You can see all the pieces exclusively in the new issue of Grazia (out now) and in the meantime, Grazia Daily managed to bag a chat with K-Bos herself to discuss her new designs and her covetable Coachella style...
Grazia: Tell us about your collection for Topshop - what is new this season, what were your inspirations?
Kate Bosworth: For [Autumn], the idea was to create a collection that is strong and graphic, yet restrained. I wanted to create luxurious, minimalist pieces. Though different in tone from the more bohemian inspired Spring festival collection, this collection is equally as true an extension of my personal aesthetic. I wanted to balance a neat, clean line with an oversized shape, to mix feminine and masculine.?The color scheme is Mondrian inspired- black and whites mixed with cracked metallics and a pop of red. I respond to a monochromatic look. For example, the red shirt with the red leather pants.
Grazia: Why did you decide to work with Topshop, how did you get to know the brand?
Kate Bosworth: Justin Cooke is an incredible innovator within this industry. We had been friendly since his Burberry days and he asked me to come on board to design with Topshop.
Grazia: You are consistently on best dressed lists - how do you describe your style?
Kate Bosworth: Style should reflect a feeling. This is the most interesting aspect to fashion- the external expression of what's happening within.
Grazia: Are you really into fashion in the catwalk sense? Do you follow the shows?
Kate Bosworth: I follow every show, every season immediately. It is important to appreciate the trendsetting designers.
Grazia: Are you a big shopper?
Kate Bosworth: I like to shop online as it is a more intimate experience.

Grazia: How do you shop - vintage, high end, high street?
Kate Bosworth: My closet is a true mixture of the three.
Grazia: Your Coachella style is cited on every web story, every year - is there tons of pressure to get it right?
Kate Bosworth: Every festival should be expressed with a feeling, without pressure. I love California and I have a real connection to the West Coast.
Grazia: We saw you wear so many pieces from that festival collection - what are you looking to wear from this new collection?
Kate Bosworth: I respond to a monochromatic look for [Autumn]. I love the white leather pieces all worn together... the coat over the skirt and the simple white leather v-neck. Carrying the white leather fold over clutch. I find white an extremely chic color, especially in the [Autumn].
Grazia: Who inspires you?
Kate Bosworth: My husband. Every day.
The collection launches globally in-store and online at topshop.com on 24th October. See Kate's greatest style hits in the gallery below >>
