It's a big week for Mr Karl Lagerfeld, as yesterday we brought you the news about his designs with Melissa shoes, and his watch collection with Fossil launches today. Grazia Daily saw the watches this morning at the launch breakfast at Boutique.Goldsmiths and they are as you would expect Klassic Karl.
The 15 watch designs have everything you would expect from a Karl Lagerfeld timepiece as there are chains, leather detailing, his lucky number seven and even his side profile plus ponytail. They are luxurious and iconic Karl Lagerfeld designs, but the good news is, they are are all affordable as they range from £138 - £549. Did we mention they launched TODAY?! Form an orderley queue...
The Karl Pop, The Karl Zip and Karl 7
The watches are highly personal, as the 'Karl 7' is named after his favourite number and has a beveled top ring which makes it look ultra modern. The Karl Keeper is dedicated to Karl's personal bodyguard, who he describes as 'karlossal in proportion.' Oh Karl, we love you.
There is even a watch for his energy, called you guessed it, Karl energy. The 'Karl Pop' design is the most personal of the bunch, as the watch face is an illustration of his iconic ponytail and shades. This design will change each season, so we're keeping our fingers crossed for a Choupette watch face next season. How Karl-tastic would that be?!
One of the most striking watches in the collection is the 'Karl Zip,' as it has seperate leather pyramid studded straps which you can attach to the watch strap to add extra drama. With an exposed zip and studs it is a real statement watch, and is Karl's personal fave of the collection. Mr Lagerfeld said of the collection: 'You cannot buy time but you can get a beautiful watch to measure time without spending a fortune.' Oh he's so wise.
Each watch in the launch collection comes with limited edition packaging and engraved case backs and are available TODAY on watchkarl.com and at Boutique.Goldsmiths stores nationwide at Bullring Birmingham, Newcastle Metro Centre, Lakeside and Westfield Stratford City.
