Karl Lagerfeld Launches Collection Inspired By His Cat Choupette

[Net-a-Porter]

It was only a few days ago that Grazia team members started to question the whereabouts of famous feline Choupette. We hadn’t spotted Chanel’s leader surpemo relaxing and kicking back with his beloved pal and soul mate, le petit chat, for some time. Was the little kitty on holiday? At a spa? Completely exhausted après fashion week? Or over indulged in her favourite snackette: pâté? Perhaps a change of scenery was in order. Could Choupette have taken up a part time job in a beauty salon back home in Arizona? Studying medicine in college? Eloping to marry a distant relative of Helly Kitty after rejecting Karl’s suggestion of marriage was to be legalised? Mais non. None of the above.

Choupette has in fact been working hard as model and muse for Mr Multi-tasker Lagerfeld’s latest range: a capsule collection of cat inspired accessories. The relationship between fashion and the cat family is a strong one already: think of Charlotte Olympia’s incredibly popular kitty pumps or the fact that leopard print is omnipresent, whether in vogue or not. Herr Lagerfeld’s monochrome (but, of course) range of scarves, handbags, key-chains, phone covers, mittens and tablet holders will make any animal lovers purr with excitement.

Should you want to get your claws into a piece of this a-meow-zing collection, you’ll need to travel outside of the UK. Only Karl Lagerfeld stores in Paris, Berlin, Munich, Amsterdam, Beijing, Shanghai, and Antwerp.
