Who wouldn’t want to be a Rag & Bone girl? For aeons the denim world has been awash with cool, laid-back girls – the no-make up, terribly cool – even boyish - laid-back kind of girl. Rag & Bone D.I.Y.’s new face, in the form of model Julia Stegner is no exception but their new campaign takes the relaxed vibe to the next level.

The New York brand (British boys Marcus Wainwright and David Neville) straddles both the downtown denim world and upscale catwalk world of Manhattan-ite whites and sportsluxe looks. Their high-fashion flair provides an extra cool bent on their denim range 'Rag & Bone /JEAN' as does their new do-it-yourself campaign!

The R&B boys gave Julia Stegner a fab digital camera and a case of clothes and sent her to Costa Rica with her boyfriend. It sounds like it was a long, tough shoot! Julia said, ‘we were there for three weeks so we’d just sporadically take the camera down to the beach.’ Erm, can this be our job please? ‘It is such a magical, inspiring place,’ she continued. ‘We went surfing every day, watched the monkeys in our garden, cooked and ate a lot of delicious food.’ Yep – jealous much?

The pics speak for themselves, infused with spontaneity and some sexy beach sauntering. And it’s the candour of the pics that make the pieces TRULY covetable. Can’t be the girl? OK we’ll buy the jeans… D.I.Y. indeed!

The jean-ius campaign idea was originally conceived back in Spring 2011 and has since seen array of super cool models sent on the same oh-so-difficult task, from beach-beauty Miranda Kerr, to Liu Wen, Bridget Hall, Abbey Lee Kershaw and one of our faves, Candice Swanepoel. They’ve all given their own personal touch to the photos.

Rag & Bone – please invite us next time! Haven’t you seen how fab we are on Instagram?
