Yesterday we got a tad giddy when we saw Carine Roitfeld's latest shoot by Sebastian Faena for V Magazine, which is inspired by her early days as a fashion model. Former French Vogue Editor Carine was discovered at the age of 16 on the streets of Paris, but the cascading hair and flared jeans that 'Sweet 16 Carine' possessed are a far cry from the polished Givenchy looks that the style icon can be seen working on front row these days.
And when it comes to fashion careers, it seems that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, as Roitfeld's daughter, Julia Restoin-Roitfeld, has been unveiled as the face of Eddie Borgo's Autumn Winter 2013 collection. With her dark eyes and pouting lips, Julia, who gave birth to her daughter Romy last year, is the mirror image of her mother when Carine was a model. The 32-year-old has previously appeared in ads for Lancôme, Jil Sander and Mango, and was shot by photographer Paul Maffi and styled by Keegan Singh for the Eddie Borgo Autumn Winter 2013 campaign series.
The designer has a history of using friends for his collection promos and in past seasons he has featured Vogue contributing editor Lauren Santo Domingo (Spring/ Summer 2010), designer Tabitha Simmons (Autumn/ Winter 2011) and musician Alison Mosshart (Autumn/ Winter 2013) and model Anja Rubij (Spring/ Summer 2013).
