Diane Kruger is oh-so pretty in Bottega Veneta on the cover of the latest issue of Flare Magazine to promote her new film The Host, adapted from Twilight author Stephanie Meyer's novel.
She dropped a few surprises in the interview, claiming her boyf Joshua has banned her from watching Dawson's Creek, she makes her own jam and she is a Twi-hard. Yep she has a thing for vampires as she said 'I actually happen to be a big Twilight fan, which I’m not embarrassed to say. It sort of appeals to my inner teenage girl.'
We were super excited when we heard that she opened up about her beau Joshua Jackson, as they are one of our all time favourite couples. She said he has banned her from watching Dawson's Creek as she said: 'He doesn't want me to watch his early work. He grew up in front of the camera with pimples and bloatiness.' But he was the Dawsons Dreamboat?
We also found out from the interview that the pair of them make their own jam. She confessed: 'We have a big garden in L.A. and we started canning jam and pickling. It sounds a little kooky, but the pickles we make are insane.' Seriously, could these two get any cuter?
She also spoke to Flare about her fashion fairy godfather Karl Lagerfeld as she said: 'He’s very kind and can be very funny and ironic and silly. In difficult moments in my life when I don’t really know who to talk to, I sort of drop by his studio and he knows me well enough to pick up on weird things. He really is one of the most interesting people I’ve ever met.' Oh if only we could all have Karl as a BFF.
They may be uber private, but the jam-making duo are our one of our favourite couples. Read below to find out a little more about the pair...
Joshua and Diane on the Cannes red carpet
1 They live next to Karl Lagerfeld
They live next door to King Karl in Paris and like all neighbours they bump into him when out and about. 'We randomly see him, like, just on the street sometimes,' Jackson explained. 'He’s an incredibly, marvelously interesting man. But it’s strange to bump into him; he’s sort of a larger-than-life presence, so it’s odd to see him on the street.'
Karl obviously has a soft spot for Ms Kruger, but apparently he is team Pacey as Kruger said: 'Karl bizarrely loves Josh. Before he asks how I am, he would ask how Josh is.'
2. Joshua says she is his style 'editor'
'I have an in-house fashion critic now, so I never quite leave the house in the shambles I used to. She puts me on the right path if I’m dressing myself poorly. She’s an editor more than anything else,' Joshua told Vanity Fair.
3. Joshua found her Marie Antoinette costumes 'sexy'
Joshua said he LOVED Diane as Marie Antoinette in Farewell, My Queen because he has a thing for her costumes. 'I definitely made the effort to go see her in the full queen regalia. It’s a one-time thing in an actor’s life. It was sexy — period, full stop. I mean, it was kind of a kinky fetish thing with the wigs and the corsets. I don’t know how [people] survived that period. Foreplay must’ve been a son of a bitch. It takes a nation of millions to get those things on and off.'
4. Joshua is Diane's 'hero' and saves her from couture
Diane Kruger had to ask Pacey to come to her rescue at the Cannes Film Festival when she was unable to get out of her Dior dress to go to the bathroom. Granted weeing isn't the most fairy tale princess activity, but Grazia Daily is pleased to report that Josh was a true gent and gallantly stepped up to the challenge.
Diane explained '[The gown] had a huge bodice. It was so big that it took me an hour to get into it and the only way for me to go to the bathroom was to take off the bodice. Once I finished dinner, I had to go to the bathroom and it became so tight that I couldn’t breathe anymore. Josh had to come with me to the lady’s room and cut me out of it. That’s real love, isn’t it, to have someone like him help me in the weirdest situations. He’s great and he’s like my hero.’
