The cult US brand J Crew is staging a London invasion, as they have announced they are now opening not one but THREE London stores. In addition to its flagship Regent Street store which opens on 1 November, a small men's shop on Lamb's Conduit Street and a women's 'Collection' boutique on Draycott Avenue. This will do bad, bad things to our bank balances.

The men's store, 38 Lamb’s Conduit, will sit alongside Oliver Spencer, Simon Carter and Folk. It will provide unique services such as monogramming, customised stitching and buttons, and will focus on shirting and watches. The men's offering will open on the 10th October, while the Brompton Cross women's store will open in early November.

The J Crew boutique will sell limited-edition J Crew pieces, as well as items by Comme des Garçons, hats by Patricia Field and shoes by Alexa Chung's favourite Penelope Chilvers. How exciting is that?

J Crew's Jenna Lyons

We spoke to creative director Jenna Lyons about the first UK store back in May about her take on British style. She said about London fashion: 'I mean I like style wherever it comes from - I definitely have no geographical prejudice! It's like the collection you see here- it's all about pieces and yes we've styled it this way but that's only one way to wear it. I love personal style and think real style is all about the way you put you own stamp on your look.'

Mickey Drexler, chairman and CEO of J.Crew said about the London expansion: 'I love that every neighbourhood throughout London has its own unique personality - it's a lot like New York City in that way. After a lot of looking around and visiting various areas, we came across these two very different locations and knew - both were too good to pass up.'

Those outside of London can also join the J Crew takeover, thanks to the wonder of online shopping. The fashion giant operates 249 stores, with 227 in the US, so let's hope there will be plenty more opening on the British high street.
