It looks like Jason Wu has a thing for veteran supers - and we can't blame the guy. If you're looking for a model to showcase your latest creations, what better to turn to than the original supermodel line-up? Well, exactly.
Christy Turlington for Jason Wu
Last season, the New York-based designer tapped into Stephanie Seymour's talents when he cast the 44-year-old model in his Spring Summer 2013 ad. The resulting images proved that Stephanie, who posed for everyone from Victoria's Secret to Sports Illustrated in the late 1980s, has still got the phwoar factor. 'I wanted to cast a strong woman with definite sex appeal,' explained Wu at the time.
Cut to five months later and here we have another 44-year-old 'strong woman' as Wu's muse. This time, it's Christy Turlington's turn to take centre stage for the Autumn Winter 2013 campaign. Just like Seymour, the superdupermodel showcases her incredibly leggy legs while posing in a New York eatery - this time, Mr Chow - shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin. Talk about a campaign coup!
Christy Turlington for Prada
Although she's best known for her work with Calvin Klein, Christy has posed for every major brand from Chanel and Versace to Burberry and Maybelline since beginning her career aged 14. Her hey-day was in the '90s but CT is making a major comeback this season. As we reported in May, the model is due to return to her CK days by starring in the brand's new campaign and we've already seen her looking grungey for Prada's A/W '13 offering.
'I’ve been a huge fan of Christy and was so delighted that she agreed to appear in my fall campaign,' Wu tells WWD. 'She brings such inimitable charisma and chic to the image.' Too true. As for Christy? 'It was great getting to meet and spend some time with Jason,' she says.
