UPDATE 23.01.14: Fashion pals Marc Jacobs and Katie Grand huddle together for a paired-up Prada moment on Instagram:
As the standout show of the season, Miuccia Prada’s artistic portrayal of womankind has captured the hearts, magazine editorials and wardrobes of the industry’s finest. The specially commisioned portrait murals sum up the highly cerebral creative mood of today, but they’re also undeniably fun and uplifting. Who couldn’t be made happier with a multi-coloured rainbow and pretty lady’s face on a coat? There’s more pick-me-up in this Prada line than four flat whites and a morning yoga sesh, which explains we’ve seen more of it in action over these dreary January days than anything else.

First Mr Marc Jacobs got his Prada-loving mitts onto one of the catwalk’s key coats – and such is the designer's adoration – he employed it’s snuggly services for a stroll in the Caribbean. Casual, like. Then came Annas Wintour and Dello Russo - the latter FROW stalwart showcasing multiple Prada looks throughout the menswear and couture circuit of the past fortnight. The ever-directional Katie Grand also powered up her Milano wardrobe in another version of this most-wanted item - pairing it in ultra-chic style with an all black outfit and stonking great Alaia boots.
Next up – and moving on from outerwear to something significantly slinkier – was Michelle Dockery in a strapless face-clad frock for the SAG Awards party and Russian designer/fashion ed Natasha Goldenberg in a bustier-covered coat-dress-hybrid. But who will take the bold baton from here? Could it be Miu Miu’s Resort girls – Adèle Exarchopoulos and Léa Seydoux? They’ve both been playing with an array of this sister label’s fanciest garb. And there’s Lupita Nyong’o to consider – also a face of Miu Miu AND on a huge red carpet roll.
