Is Matching Shape-Wear The Latest Trend To Hit Cannes? Jessica Chastain Shows Us How Do To It

Jessica Chastain wearing Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci in Cannes last night

Shape-wear is nothing new when it comes to red-carpet dressing, with Hollywood starlets rumoured to be wearing up to five hold-ins at any given time to appear slim and bump-free under a form-fitting gown once awards season rolls around.

One of the chic-est ladies in the business, Jessica Chastain stepped out in Cannes last night for the All is lost premiere wearing a heavily embellished Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci gown in regal purple, and looked incredible. It seems the actress had a little help from her super-slimming underwear though, as was revealed when she ascended up a red-carpeted staircase to expose some shape-wear shorts. What made this often-occurring exposure particularly interesting though was that Chastain had anticipated that the dramatic slit in her dress might reveal her shape-wear secrets, so decided to make it a feature by matching the colour to her dress. Now that is forward thinking. On second inspection, the colour match is so perfect, that it might even be shorts that have been sewn into the lining of the dress, either way what matters here is the unapologetic behind-the-scenes trickery now on show and looking good!

So hide away in borderline mortifying nude-tone body suits no more, and make like Jessica by getting glamorous and colourful with one’s shape-wear, so if an unexpected exposure does happen, at least it will be all very Cannes, very A-list and matchy matching.

Make like Jessica and choose statement-making shape-wear!

Oya Costumes (Fri Jun 07 16:40:02 BST 2013): It does seem like matching shapewear is the way to go. On the personal preference I prefer skin color or nude shapewear.
