Oh how we love a celebrity birthday party, especially one hosted in an extravagant location – and in 2013 the stars have really set the bar high. Last month singer Remi Nicole rounded up her best mates, including girls of the moment Cara Delevingne and Rita Ora, for a ‘Mad Men’ themed extravaganza in Palm Springs featuring costumes, cocktails and chilling by the pool Don Drapper style. Meanwhile party planner extraordinaire Fran Cutler invited some of her closest pals – you know, Kate Moss, Jaime Winstone and Primal Scream's Bobby Gillespie - to Italy to celebrate her milestone 50th, followed by a wild night out at the Box in London where Mossy and co donned their 80s gear and danced the night away, much to the delight of the younger generation, Cara, Rita, Pixie et al, who joined in the fun.
Not to be outdone, this weekend Henry Holland headed to his mother's chateau (YES, CHATEAU!), along with fellow designers Louise Gray, Katie Hillier and Patrick Grant, and his best friend Pixie Geldof, to mark his 30th birthday. The ivy-clad Château du Ludaix is situated near Limoges, France, and features a whopping 48 rooms, each named after a different family member. Henry's mother Stephanie bought the humble abode 15 years ago and sold her house in the UK to make 'The Chat', as the family refer to it, her full time residence. We don't blame her, and really wish our folks would do the same if only to have the perfect setting for all future celebrations.
Henry's mum and sister Fleur were also guests at the soiree and the designer's pals wore masks with his face on and Instagramed pics of the dinner, drinks and elegant interior shots using the hashtag '#ChateauMyGod'.
